Redskins veterans have been working out during the offseason, and the rookies had their mini-camp three weeks ago. Now it’s time for everyone to get together and hit the field for the next wave of organized team activities(OTAs). This second set of OTAs started yesterday and runs through tomorrow, and today is the only practice open to the media. Head Coach Jay Gruden and Defensive Coordinator Greg Manusky are scheduled to speak after today’s practice.
May 22-24 - First set of OTAs
May 29-31 - Second set of OTAs
June 4-7 - Final set of OTAs

A few quick observations from today's OTA session: QB Alex Smith has earned praise from coach Jay Gruden for throwing with trust to his receivers. On multiple occasions Smith has attempted 50-50 passes, including two today to Josh Docston. He grabbed... https://t.co/QnmxUblTDU

Doctson: "It's kind of surreal when you first get here, then last year was my first year playing. Just kind of calmed it down and now I'm back like at TCU." https://t.co/rSt9iX4pkb

OTA session over. Some good catches from receivers inc. Doctson, Davis, Sims. Alex Smith rollouts over and over. No Zach Brown, S. McGee in practice.

Quarterback Alex Smith has given WR Josh Doctson a chance on a couple passes today. Threw it over top of the DB twice. Doctson grabbed one off PA over Scandrick and in front of Swearinger.

Great TD catch by Robert Davis over Halsey from about 20 yards out. High-pointed the ball over the dB. Good throw from McCoy. #Redskins

Tim Settle just got up (for a mini mountain at least) and VERY NEARLY snagged a Colt McCoy bullet. Every defender in the Ashburn area was ready to storm the field but he just couldn't hold on

After going 3&out last week in two minute, the offensive 1’s scored this week. Defense blitzed on 3rd and goal and Smith found Vernon Davis over the middle for 6.

Good series by the offens in 11 on 11. Drives the field. Smith looks his best of the day. Lots of Crowder involved. Drive ends with short TD pass to Davis on a cross as he ran away from Harvey-Clemons. #Redskins.

Great deep ball from Colt McCoy to Cam Simms. Simms continues to impress with his size and abilities that were not on display at run first Alabama. #Redskins #HTTR

Highlight for the D: Moreau with good coverage on R. Davis in the red zone. Tips ball in Air. Everett races over for the pick.

Of course this is what I have my eyes on today. 1) Reed looks BIG. He’s put on weight. His arms are massive. 2) he looks fluid. He’s on the rehab field, but there’s no hitch in his giddy up. https://t.co/WLTjue1v32

Among the missing from the voluntary workouts: LB Zach Brown. Wasn’t here when we were out here last week (told he was moving). We’ll get updates after practice. But,again, voluntary.
