The Redskins home schedule in comparison to the road schedule is far more favorable for them on paper. A reminder that this is the “Way too early predictions” so it is all for fun! However, stating the obvious, but predictions do reflect the current makeup of the team. The Redskins to this point of the new football year have made strides to be better defensively by addressing their deficiencies amongst the defensive line, and offensively by assisting with the offensive line by adding a dynamic running back. Run the ball and stop the run, one of the purest forms of winning ball games, and the Redskins chances of winning increase when they can do both. Let’s get to it:
Dallas Cowboys – W
Atlanta Falcons – L
Houston Texans – W
New York Giants – W
The Redskins finish with a home record of 7-1. The teams Washington face at home will challenge the offense in the sense of how dedicated is Jay Gruden to committing to the run game? Each of the home opponents strives to stop the run. At the same time, the Redskins defense will have favorable matchups in most of the games. The Packers, Falcons, and Eagles present the most challenging offenses for the Redskins, but the make up of Washington has been in a transformation for some time now. The Redskins will likely be a more consistent team this year when it comes to defending their home field.
