UPDATE: Kouandjio to have surgery to repair torn quad
#Redskins G Arie Kouandjio will have surgery later this week to repair a partially torn quad, source said, following an MRI and a second opinion. His precise recovery time will be determined after surgery, depending on the damage. But it’ll be several months.

The injury bug is already going around at Redskins Park. Last year saw the Redskins lose 20+ players for the season due to various injuries, and plenty of new faces off the streets to replace them. Arie Kouandjio was an old face they re-signed after being cut before the season started. He went on to start 6 games at the end of the year and was in competition for a spot on the line.
Now it looks like his season could be over before it even starts. JP Finley reports that Kouandjio suffered a torn quad that could take 8 months to heal. If the report is true, Kouandjio's season is over and the Redskins lose a player on the offensive line. Washington re-signed Shawn Lauvao to a cheap, 1-year deal this week. The team will also try swing OT Ty Nsekhe at guard, along with the motley crew of backups, UDFAs, and others trying to earn a roster spot.
