The Washington Redskins will host the New York Jets for three days of joint practices on from Sunday, August 12th through Tuesday, August 14th. The Redskins and Jets play each other in the team’s 2nd preseason game on Thursday, August 16th. This will be the first time the Redskins have been able to lure a team back to their training camp in Richmond since the New England Patriots came to town in 2014, and the Houston Texans showed up the following year.

“I’m extremely excited to welcome the Jets to Richmond for three days of practice,” Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said. “In the past, joint practices have given our coaching staff a great opportunity to evaluate our players in competitive situations against other teams, and we look forward to having that opportunity again this year by hosting the Jets.”

The arrival of the Jets will also bring a return of former Redskins starters Terrelle Pryor, Jr. and Spencer Long. Both players left the team in free agency this offseason. The Redskins signed WR Paul Richardson in free agency and will look to second-year center Chase Roullier to take over Long’s spot, while trying to sort throw and island of misfit toys at the left guard spot. The Jets also bring the 2nd QB selected, and the top passer on many people’s board, Sam Darnold. New York traded up to #3 overall and was able to land the former USC signal caller after Baker Mayfield went #1 to the Cleveland Browns and RB Saquon Barkley went to the New York Giants.
