Summarizing the Pick-3 entries - what do fans think about the Redskins and this week’s draft?

The Pick-3 draft prediction contest isn’t closed — if you want to enter, just click the link and put your entry in the comments section — but there are now 17 entrants (and no new entries yesterday) so, given that most of the people who plan to enter have probably done so, I thought I would take this opportunity to look at which college players those 17 entrants have predicted. Perhaps by summarizing their expectations, we can divine something about what Bruce, Doug & Jay will do this weekend.

There will be 256 players chosen in this week’s draft -- that’s 7 rounds of 32, plus 32 compensatory picks. The 17 entrants in the Pick 3 contest, with the opportunity to name up to 24 players each, could have — mathematically, at least — named all 256 players. In fact, the 17 entries list a whopping total of 179 separate players, meaning that there is a good chance that some of the players actually selected by the Redskins this week will have been predicted by someone in the contest.

The real trick of the contest, or course, is to pick several of the Redskins’ actual draft picks in the right rounds. Last year, SkinsaneAsaylum led the scoring when it was all said and done. So far, he hasn’t submitted an entry in a bid to defend his title.
