Redskins updated draft order after Su’a Cravens trade

How many picks do the Redskins have after the Su’a Cravens trade?

NFL: 2017 NFL Draft Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Redskins reportedly completed a trade that will send almost-retired S Su’a Cravens to the Denver Broncos. The trade sends a 5th round pick to the Redskins and also has the two teams swapping picks in the 4th and 5th rounds this year. There is a also a conditional 6th pick in 2020 that we’re not worried about right now. This trade gives the Redskins 8 picks in this year’s draft.

The Redskins 3rd round pick this year is property of the Chiefs(along with CB Kendall Fuller) as compensation for QB Alex Smith. The Redskins also had an additional 7th round pick from trading TE Derek Carrier to the Rams

Redskins official 2018 Draft picks:

1.13 (13) Washington

2.12 (44) Washington

4.9 (109) Washington

5.5 (142) Washington

5.26 (163) Washington

6.14 (188) Washington

7.13 (231) Washington

7.23 (241) Washington from Los Angeles Rams (Derek Carrier trade)

The Redskins addressed a few areas in free agency by signing WR Paul Richardson and OLB Pernell McPhee. They also lost a lot of free agents including WRs Ryan Grant and Terrelle Pryor Sr., OLB Trent Murphy, C Spencer Long, and TE Niles Paul. CB Bashaud Breeland and OLB Junior Galette, among others, remain unsigned, but aren’t expected back with the Redskins. Defensive lineman Johnathan Hankins remains on the team’s radar, but the two sides can’t agree on money at this point. The NFL draft is April 26th, and the Redskins will have plenty of needs and options to fill them with their 8 draft picks.
