Heading into the offseason, many expected Junior Galette to be a priority re-signing for the Redskins. It looks like that is no longer the case.
Chick Hernandez is reporting through a source that The Redskins have withdrawn their latest offer to Junior Galette.
Per source, the Redskins have withdrawn their latest offer to Junior Galette. Several teams remain in play including Cleveland and a reunion with Scot McCloughan who originally brought the edge rushing specialist to Washington. The Rams have also had discussions. #redskins— Chick Hernandez (@CHICKatNBCS) March 23, 2018
There is a lot that can be read into this surprising nugget. 1) Galette has been very active, and sometimes downright disrespectful on social media. 2) Maybe they have other targets in mind who will come at a cheaper price (possibly in the draft). 3) It was recently reported that second year OLB Ryan Anderson has dropped some weight and has been working very hard this offseason to improve his speed and explosion.
Stay tuned, as I’m sure Galette will enlighten us through social media on what went down.
Skins understanding is that other teams would make him a better offer; yep, they have talked to Galette about the situation. Yes, Cleveland and the Rams. No offer has yet been made. Clearly has connections with both teams: McCloughan in Cle; McVay, Joe Barry in LA https://t.co/QwlpQEaZVW— John Keim (@john_keim) March 23, 2018
