Former Ravens and Bears LB Pernell McPhee visited the Redskins on Sunday, and will continue his visit today. McPhee was released by the Bears on February 26th, and this is his first known visit in free agency. McPhee will be joined by two other visiting free agents today when DT Johnathan Hankins and CB Orlando Scandrick arrive at Redskins Park.
McPhee(6'3", 269lbs, 29yo) was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the 5th round in 2011, and played his first 4 years in the league with them. He signed a 5 year, $38.75 milion contract with the Bears in 2015. He played in 36 games, with 14 sacks, 90 tackles, and 3 forced fumbles. Injuries limited his last two years.
The Redskins are currently negotiating with Junior Galette, but the two sides are reportedly far apart on money. Washington also lost Trent Murphy in free agency to the Buffalo Bills.
