I'm told that the Patriots are among the three final teams (including the Bucs) in the running to land Redskins outside linebacker Trent Murphy. https://t.co/cjRfqhdeyb

Trent Murphy will be getting some attention from multiple teams in free agency. The Redskins were interested in re-signing the former 2nd round pick from 2014, and offered him a new deal that has not been signed. He reportedly has three teams who are in the running to sign him, including the New England Patriots. Murphy is coming off of a lost season that saw him get suspended for PEDs, and then tear his ACL/LCL during the preseason. Murphy had finally found his role in the defense in 2016, racking up 47 tackles, 9 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles.
