The Redskins made a series of moves this week as their season winds down. On Monday D.J. Swearinger was released after his latest criticism of the team. Yesterday the team signed ILB Marquis Flowers to the active roster, and added WRs Carlos Henderson and ArDarius Stewart to the practice squad.

Today the Redskins finally shut QB Colt McCoy and TE Jordan Reed down for the season. McCoy was holding out hope for a return after breaking his leg 4 weeks ago. For some reason the Redskins entertained this fantasy when it was clear it wasn't going to happen.
Jordan Reed was also shut down after injuring his ankle/toe three weeks ago vs the Giants. He has missed the last two games and won't return until next season.
The Redskins also signed two players to the active roster to replace McCoy and Reed. OLB Marcus Smith was re-signed and DB Alex Carter was signed from the practice squad.

The #Redskins have now placed 23 players on IR, which is the same total as last year. This is also the third time in six years Reed's season has concluded on IR. #Redskins https://t.co/hDn7Kii5lm
