D.J. Swearinger claimed off waivers by the Arizona Cardinals

Swearinger returns to the Cardinals

The Redskins released safety D.J. Swearinger after he was critical of Defensive Coordinator Greg Manusky following their loss to the Titans. Swearinger has been outspoken about the team's issues multiple times this season(and last season). He was warned multiple times, but it eventually got to the point where the Redskins decided to part ways.

Swearinger broke the news about his release during his weekly paid appearance on 106.7 the Fan's Grant and Danny. He talked about the relaxed practices Jay Gruden runs, his shock that he was released for speaking the truth and trying to improve the team, and more.

Today he broke the news that he was claimed by the Arizona Cardinals(3-12) off waivers. Swearinger first joined the Cardinals late in the 2015 season after being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He signed a 1 year deal for 2016, and claims he was ready to re-sign with them before signing a 3 year deal with the Redskins. Swearinger will be available for Arizona's last game of the season against the Seahawks.
