The Redskins were down 14-0 and needed a big play to get back into the game. Alex Smith provided that spark with a huge 22 yard run. Smith looked like he was bottled up for a sack, and had 3 Falcons defenders trying to bring him down. He somehow broke free, and scrambled for a 22 yard gain. He paid for the gain by staying in bounds as the Falcons laid a major hit to his head. The Redskins finished the drive with a big pass to Maurice Harris, and then a 3 yard fade for a TD to Josh Doctson.
Great job by Smith making something out of nothing here, but damn what a hit he took pic.twitter.com/VRXO4k38eI

It is incredible Alex Smith wasn't sacked on his long run.

That is inspiring stuff from the QB. The type of play that can kick-start your offense after a slow start pic.twitter.com/VketnunG6N
Josh Doctson TD
Jay Gruden will be one happy HC. Calls the fade to Josh Doctson, gets the TD. #Redskins needed that badly pic.twitter.com/oavs2JarWe

Josh Doctson with some fancy footwork off the snap and in perfect position to receive the ball on the fade throw.

Nice route. Nice throw. Nice 80 yard drive ends in a touchdown.#Redskins pic.twitter.com/aWdCyR6nxE
