Doug Williams came to the podium unannounced before Jay Gruden’s presser to apologize for comments he made yesterday about claiming Reuben Foster. The former 49ers LB was arrested for domestic violence and has been placed on the NFL Commissioners Exempt List which likely will end his season. Williams and the Redskins have been widely criticized for the move, and yesterday’s interview did not help. Williams apologized and did not take questions before turning the mic over to Gruden. Redskins owner Dan Snyder and Team President Bruce Allen refuse to answer any questions about the issue, standing behind their statement and putting Williams and Gruden in front of the media.

I am told the Williams statement refers to the tone of the entire radio interview about Reuben Foster yesterday as opposed to one particular comment. https://t.co/6UQ45gAZuY

Reuben Foster:
I asked Gruden after “did you think when you made the claim on Reuben on Tuesday that it would still be a story like this on Friday?”

Gruden: “No.”
