The Redskins have reportedly claimed former San Francisco 49ers LB Reuben Foster off of waivers. Foster was released this week after he was arrested at the team’s hotel for domestic violence.
This is a developing story...

Now the question becomes whether or when the league will suspend him.
So the #Redskins assume the rest of Foster's rookie contract through 2020, on which the remaining $1.88 million in guarantees was voided by his suspension. In terms of money, a low-risk move. In terms of everything else ... a lot to unpack there. https://t.co/hOjOZt0I66

The #Redskins were the only team to put in a waiver claim on Reuben Foster, I’m told.

#Redskins President Bruce Allen masterminded the decision to claim him, an NFL official with knowledge of the Redskins' deliberations said, adding that the front office was far from unanimous about the idea. https://t.co/3pcuGOhgAv

Only one NFL team made inquiries into the police department responsible for the arrest of Reuben Foster ... and it wasn't Washington. https://t.co/xl0ZB7uDwX
