Reuben Foster Released by 49ers - Should the Redskins be Interested?

NFL: San Francisco 49ers at Green Bay Packers Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

After yet another domestic violence arrest, 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster was released by the team according to multiple sources.

There is no denying Foster’s talent, but his off-field troubles are extremely concerning. But...should the Redskins be interested in the talented, yet troubled former Alabama star?

For the Skins, there is a great need for a complete 3-down inside linebacker who can play sideline-to-sideline.

I normally wouldn’t promote such a move given the multiple events that have taken place with Foster, but the young man does need to get his head on straight, and what better place for him to do so, that on a team with former Alabama teammates Jonathan Allen, DaRon Payne, Ryan Anderson and Shaun Dion Hamilton.

Speaking of Allen, he’s taken on a leader roll in just his second year with the team. If anyone could take Foster under their wing, and set him back on the straight and narrow, it may be Jonathan.

I know Foster has been give multiple chances with his former team, but rehabilitation and a strong support staff is something the NFL promotes with its players. Would the Redskins be a place he could receive both?

I also know a suspension from the NFL may be a strong possibility, so if the Redskins did show interest, it could be a move for the future, not the present.
