The Redskins lost to the Houston Texans 23-21, but amazingly kept the game close even after Alex Smith went down with an injury. Smith was carted off the field, and Jay Gruden said he broke his tibia and fibula, and requires immediate surgery. Gruden has always been a big fan of Colt McCoy, and that has not changed. McCoy is the Redskins starter now, and Washington will fly in several QBs to work out for the backup position.
