The Redskins were driving down the field, on their way to their first lead change of the year. Then disaster struck. Alex Smith was targeting Jordan Reed in the end zone, but there was a miscommunication and the ball was picked off by Texans safety Justin Reid. The ball was taken 101 yards to the house, and what could have been a 14-10 lead for the Redskins turned into a 17-7 lead for the Texans. It looks like Reed’s at fault here, but it will go in the books as a big interception for Alex Smith.
Alex Smith and Jordan Reed not on the same page. Reed ran a corner stop, Smith threw outside, not expecting Reed to break off the route quite so sharply, leads to a pick-6 #Redskins pic.twitter.com/RIPh7DkAeu

Obvious confusion between Alex Smith and Jordan Reed on that pick 6.

Smith expected Reed to break to the outside, but instead Reed pivoted inside and sat still.
Not sure who to blame, but either way a 101yd pick six is an ugly result.#Redskins pic.twitter.com/h0TCUbcqbu
Smith’s 2nd one of the game was all him though...
Get what Smith was trying to do here, as he climbs up and out of the pocket to keep the play alive, but doesn't anticipate the LB undercutting the throw. This one is definitely on Smith #Redskins pic.twitter.com/0Jo1vSUtx9
