Trent Williams would probably be playing today if it were just up to him. He was a surprise participant in practice on Friday after Jay Gruden all but ruled him out on Wednesday. Williams is returning from thumb surgery and has been fitted with a new cast to attempt to play through the injury.
It seemed unlikely Trent would be cleared today, but you never know with his high tolerance for pain. Ian Rapoport reports he has a real shot to play against the Cowboys for their Thursday Thanksgiving Day game.
The Redskins will return to the field with the same lineup on the OL this week; left tackle Ty Nsekhe, left guard Jonathan Cooper, center Chase Roullier, right guard Tony Bergstrom, and right tackle Morgan Moses. Geron Christian Sr. was lost for the season with a torn MCL. Veteran street free agent Austin Howard takes over as the swing tackle.
#Redskins LT Trent Williams, trying to return from a thumb injury, is not likely to play today, source said. But he’s got a real shot at next week.
