The Redskins three game winning streak came to a painful halt last week against the Falcons at FedEx Field. The good news is they remain in 1st place in the NFC East at 5-3. The bad news is they lost 3 starters for the season(G Brandon Scherff, G Shawn Lauvao, and WR Paul Richardson Jr.). They travel to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers to try to get a needed win.
Quinton Dunbar is questionable again this week with a shin/nerve injury. If Dunbar can't play, Danny Johnson will likely get significant playing time with Greg Stroman in the backup role.
Jamison Crowder has been ruled out for the last four weeks, but returned to practice this week and is questionable. Maurice Harris will likely get the start opposite Josh Doctson this week with Richardson out.
Michael Floyd and Brian Quick could see more playing time against the Buccaneers, at least until Trey Quinn makes his return from IR next week.
Adrian Peterson is still dealing with shoulder and knee injuries, but will start again this week. Chris Thompson has been ruled out for tomorrow’s game, his 2nd straight after suffering a new rib injury two weeks ago. Kapri Bibbs and Samaje Perine will be active again. (Byron Marshall is also eligible to return from IR).
LT Trent Williams is still out after thumb surgery and he could miss a few more weeks. Ty Nsekhe steps in for him at LT. Morgan Moses has a big brace on his knee and is also questionable. If he can't play, Geron Christian Sr. will start at RT. Newly signed Austin Howard would then be active as the team's swing tackle. Another OL signed this week will get the start when Jonathan Cooper lines up at LG. Chase Roullier will remain at center while veteran backup Tony Bergstrom takes over at RG. Good luck Alex!
The Redskins are 3 point underdogs against the Buccaneers going into Sunday’s away game.
