The Redskins crushed the Cowboys dreams of taking over the NFC East yesterday by beating them 20-17. The Cowboys thought they were good after beating a Jaguars team that is falling apart. Dallas can't win on the road, their offense is not what it used to be, and they are getting desperate.
Enter Jon Gruden and Amari Cooper. The Oakland Raiders appear to be having a fire sale as they start the 10-year Gruden rebuilding plan. Cooper has reportedly been on the trade block for a few weeks, and the Redskins even sniffed around to see what it would take to acquire the former 1st round WR.
Apparently the price for Cooper was a 1sr round pick which the Redskins weren't giving up for the inconsistent receiver. The Cowboys are hurting for receiving options and watching another season slip away, so we end up with this deal.
Cowboys traded a first-round pick to Raiders for WR Amari Cooper, per source.
