Jay Gruden poked his head out long enough to answer a few questions from reporters today. He offered no updates on Redskins injuries. He didn't offer anything positive for the pitchforks and torches crowd that grows every week.

Crowder, Richardson and Apke DNP
Doctson, Peterson, Thompson, Williams and Scherff would have been on the limited list.

Crowder missed with an ankle injury. We whiffed on asking Jay for more detail. Will try to find out more. Worst case tomorrow we will ask.

Alex Smith:
Gruden says the meeting with Smith was a lot explaining what the other was thinking trying to get on the same page.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) October 10, 2018
He mentions tempo as a thing that could help. Presumably getting the plays to him faster.
Didn't see it coming:
Gruden: I didn’t see (bad game in N.O.) it coming. I thought we had a good week of practice. #Redskins pic.twitter.com/W0kBxs6i36

Wallowing in our crap for too long:
Gruden: “We probably wallowed around in our crap for too long.” He said it affected plays as they went on.

Thomas Davis/Luke Kuechly:
Gruden says he thinks Davis/Kuechly is the best LB combo in the league.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) October 10, 2018
Gruden: They [Panthers] have a really good scheme. They have the best line backing duo in my opinion and Thomas Davis might be back this week. #Redskins

DeAngelo Hall on Josh Norman:
Gruden on DeAngelo Hall saying Josh Norman is too focused on being a celebrity: "D Hall said that? I gotcha. No, I don't think so. I love D Hall, but damn. I don't think so....I don't think that's a reason at all."
