The Redskins announced a contract extension for RB Chris Thompson that will reportedly keep him on the team through 2019. Thompson was a restricted free agent this offseason, and the Redskins tendered him at the 2nd Round level. Thompson signed the tender in April, and was scheduled to make $2.746 million this season, and become an unrestricted free agent next year.
Now Jay Gruden has on of his facorite offensive locked up for 3 years. Thompson has gotten plenty of action as the Redskins 3rd down back, and in the pasding game. Last year he had 356 yards rushing with 3 Tds, and 349 yards receiving with 2 more TDs.
A cool success story. Thompson gets a 2-year that gives him $6.5M guaranteed over the course of the extension. https://t.co/yI8uVznl7U
