The #Redskins are releasing WR Maurice Harris, via source. They plan to add him to practice squad if he clears waivers.

Thought Harris had shown enough on to land a spot. Could skins go 5 WR (Pryor, Crowder, Doctson, Grant and Quick)? https://t.co/b77gGaa9Vs

On Harris, knew would be close. Some liked; some didn't. Do think others ability to contribute more on ST mattered. will try 2 get Mo on PS

Robert Davis was able to contribute on a few more special teams units than Harris. Harris just backup return man.

Heard earlier Skins were still deciding if to keep 5 or 6 WRs. have long assumed 6. They do like Davis, Quick physical style on ST. we'll c

The Redskins have reportedly cut 3 WRs so far, Zach Pascal, James Quick, and Maurice Harris. Maurice Harris was a slight surprise, but he didn’t play special teams except as a backup return man, and that is critical for a 5th 6th WR on any team. Harris was also injured for a few weeks, and missed critical time to earn a spot on the team.
The Redskins still have several receivers at the bottom of the roster trying to make the team. The locks for the roster are Terrelle Pryor Sr., Josh Doctson, Jamison Crowder, and Ryan Gruden Ryan Grant. Brian Quick seems like he’s making the roster, but Robert Davis has also made a strong case for for the 5th or 6th spot, depending on how many the Redskins plan on keeping.
