We have seen a lot...well, maybe not, since my last roster prediction after the Redskins played the Ravens. Sunday's game saw the starters play a bit into the third quarter, and who was out there, and who wasn't, says a lot about who should make this roster.
Some standout performances and injuries have effected my last roster projections. Below, you can get a look at who I think will make the Redskins 53-man roster.
Offense:(24)
QB - Kirk Cousins, Colt McCoy, Nate Sudfeld
RB - Robert Kelley, Chris Thompson, Samaje Perine
WR - Terrelle Pryor, Jamison Crowder, Josh Doctson, Ryan Grant, Maurice Harris, Robert Davis
TE - Jordan Reed, Vernon Davis, Niles Paul, Jeremy Sprinkle
OL - Trent Williams, Shawn Lauvao, Spencer Long, Brandon Scherff, Morgan Moses, Ty Nsekhe, Chase Roullier, Arie Kouandjio
Defense:(26)
DL - Jonathan Allen, Stacy McGee, Terrell McClain, Matt Ioannidis, Ziggy Hood, Anthony Lanier, Joey Mbu
OLB - Ryan Kerrigan, Preston Smith, Ryan Anderson, Junior Galette, Chris Carter
ILB - Zach Brown, Mason Foster, Martrell Spaight, Will Compton
CB - Josh Norman, Bashaud Breeland, Kendall Fuller, Fabian Moreau, Quinton Dunbar, Joshua Holsey
S - D.J. Swearinger, Su'a Cravens, DeShazor Everett, Montae Nicholson
Special Teams: (3)
K - Dustin Hopkins
P - Tress Way
LS - Nick Sundberg
PUP With Designation to Return:
Deangelo Hall
Notes:
*I have the Redskins carrying just 8 offensive linemen, and 5 outside linebackers. This could easily be 9 OL and 4 OLB. I feel they will try and put three of their young linemen on the practice squad, and I do not feel Vinston Painter is worth a roster spot at this time.
*I have the battle at CB and S leaving out veteran Will Blackmon in favor of a younger rookie in Holsey (who has played well). Nicholson, in limited action, has shown he belongs.
