Redskins nose tackle Phil Taylor will miss the season because of his quad injury suffered Sunday, a source said.... https://t.co/wCPCy4bjxh

ESPN’s John Keim reported today that Redskins nose tackle Phil Taylor is done for the season. Taylor went down in the first quarter with a left quad injury and, though he walked off the field, an MRI today revealed the injury was severe enough to end the veteran’s season.
Taylor, who was out of football in 2015 and who went to IR with a knee injury during training camp with the Broncos in 2016, was poised to make a comeback this season in Washington. He made his way up the depth chart by demonstrating quickness and athleticism, cutting in front of Joey Mbu and A.J. Francis. The team will now look to those two players to step up; however, with the change from two roster cut downs to one, it’ll be interesting to see if the team moves to bring in another nose tackle if someone reliable comes available.
