The Audible Talks to Scot McCloughan

The one and only Scot “McLovin” McCloughan joins The Audible.

San Francisco 49ers 2009 Headshots

On Tuesday night, the basement podcast studio was a very happy place. We were joined by none other than Scot “McLovin” McCloughan. The former personnel man for the Washington Redskins appeared on The Audible’s second episode of “After the Whistle,” the official Redskins podcast of Hogs Haven.

Had we stayed to 20 or 30 minutes, I might have more bullet points to send your way, but if you have been following the roster construction of the Washington Redskins the last few years, you will want to hear his words on even the most basic topics.

We started out with his love for the game of football, and transitioned into a discussion on the coaching staff, the state of young talent on this roster and Mike Holmgren. In addition to expressing gratitude for his efforts to reshape both the roster and fortunes of our favorite team, we were able to get some great nuggets out of McLovin.

And yes, I asked if I could call him McLovin (after all, his wife Jessica called him McLovin in their farewell tweet).

I hope you give this week’s conversation a listen. It may be a bit longer than our usual shows, but it is a conversation with a guy we have claimed is one of the most important members of this Redskins organization to have come through town in recent memory. We cover Jay Gruden, Jamison Crowder, Jonathan Allen and all the other offseason additions that McLovin was so integral in bringing to D.C.
