Offseason On the Brink...Of Finally Ending?

New, comments

After a rough ride, the Redskins offseason is close to wrapping up ahead of training camp and the preseason slate of games.

First thing’s first: we fixed the music problem. Nobody wants to listen to just our voices and every little sound that comes out of the basement podcast studio. That is why we play music behind us, and last week that got all fouled up (initial attempts to blame T proved to be misguided).

Each week on The Audible for the last seven months, we have worked our way through what has been a WAY rockier offseason than we expected. It may have seemed dramatic at the time, but the title “Offseason On the Brink” proved to be an apt one—season two of #OOTB starts next winter and is shaping up to be a doozy already!

This week’s Redskins show was dedicated to the theme laid out in the Sixpack, giving T and Kevin the opportunity to lend their voices to the conversation. Essentially, I argue that the drama surrounding our quarterback situation (inclusive of the Scot “McLovin” McCloughan debacle) has provided large amounts of cover to a plethora of players/storylines heading into camp. We make the case that this is a good thing for those players (Jonathan Allen, Junior Galette, Bashaud Breeland, among others) because Kirk Cousins has basically shouldered the entire media burden for the last few months.

The beauty of the gift that is the Kirktacular will keep on giving for the foreseeable future. Hopefully, the rest of the Washington roster can properly take advantage of the peace and quiet to prepare for a monster 2017 season.

Thanks for listening, y’all!
