It’s July. Free Agency is finished. The draft is in the books. Training Camp is 2 weeks away, and it seems like a good time to consider how the Redskins stack up against their division rivals.
Today, I’d like to think about the team leader & most important position on the field — the quarterback position.
In July last year, Romo was the Cowboys unquestioned starter, Kellen Moore was the veteran backup, and Dak Prescott was the ‘consolation’ draft pick rookie buried at 3rd on the depth chart. Injuries to Moore’s leg and Romo’s back changed all that.
So, today, I’d like to ask this question:
Which team in the division would be in the best position to have a successful 2018 season if the starting quarterback went down with injury and the team had to play the season with the backup (as Dallas did last season)?
The backup quarterbacks for reference:
Giants: Geno Smith, Josh Johnson, Davis Webb
Redskins: Colt McCoy, Nate Sudfeld
Eagles: Nick Foles, Matt McGloin
Cowboys: Kellen Moore, Cooper Rush, Zac Dysert
