According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the tone of negotiations between Kirk Cousins’ agent and the Washington Redskins has improved and signs of a long-term deal have become more encouraging.
The primary reason: Dan Snyder. Snyder has involved himself recently and has made it known that he, and the Washington Redskins, want Cousins as their QB.
The belief now according to Schefty’s sources is that even if a deal doesn’t get done by the deadline next month, one could be struck after this coming season. Either way, Snyder and the Redskins as an organization want Cousins in town long-term and the negotiations are looking up.
Last offseason, the two sides didn’t even come close to a deal. Now the team is finally realizing just what they have in Cousins. Let’s get it done. Hope... it’s a start.
