2017 NFL Draft Rumors: Redskins trying to trade RB Matt Jones

The Redskins are reportedly looking to trade and replace Jones

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Washington Redskins are shopping RB Matt Jones. The former 3rd round pick has been a disappointment, and was benched last season after another fumble. Jones worked on his ball security issues during the offseason, but a costly fumble against the Lions put him in the team’s dog house. Jones was listed with a knee injury the following week, and didn’t get on the field again.

The Redskins have Robert Kelley, who took over Jones starting role, Chris Thompson and Mack Brown under contract. The team has been linked to many of the top RBs in the draft this year, and two have already come off the board yesterday(Leaonard Fournette, Christian McCaffrey). There will be plenty of options if the Redskins plan on going RB tonight. There will be less options and return on a Matt Jones trade, if they can find a trade partner.
