2017 NFL Draft Rumors Tracker: Redskins like Trubisky, OLB in the 1st, more

Jarrad Davis:

During last Friday’s edition of the DA Draft Buzz, I noted that two teams both grade Florida’s Jarrad Davis as a first-round pick. On Sunday I learned a few teams stamp the linebacker as a top 20-prospect and feel that he’ll be gone by the middle of Round 1.

The teams I’m hearing that are interested in Davis include the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins.

Jabrill Peppers visit; Redskins interest in trading back into the 1st round

Eric Galko from Sporting News/Optimum Scouting has several Redskins rumors in his latest update:

Last note on Trubisky: The Washington Redskins have him graded as a top-10 talent in this class, one of just a few top-10 grades they have on prospects, and teams don’t throw those out often. If Washington has Trubisky graded so high and he’s available when San Francisco is on the clock, would the Redskins trade Kirk Cousins for the No. 2 pick?

Among picks in my final mock draft, I’m most confident in Derek Barnett to the Redskins at No. 17 (unless Charles Harris is there)

The Redskins will take Charles Harris is he’s available at No. 17 ... if they stick to their draft board. If he’s gone (as they expect), Jabrill Peppers and Dalvin Cook are both highly ranked and could be the options. I landed on Derek Barnett in my final mock draft, a player that have graded very similarly, fits their prototype at the position and can fill the starting spot Trent Murphy vacates for the first four games this year (before replacing him fully).

Cook also has interest from the Eagles, and he’s the No. 1-rated running back for the Redskins.
