Linebacker Zach Brown Visiting Redskins on Monday

Help for the defense?

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

Well guys, your prayers may have just been answered.

According to Master Tesfatsion, former Bills free agent Inside Linebacker Zach Brown will visit the Redskins on Monday:

ESPN's John Keim also tweeted this out:

Brown is currently the top rated free agent inside linebacker left on the market. The 6'1" 242 pound 27 year old linebacker had a career year for the Bills in 2016, recording 149 total tackles, four sacks, four passes defended, one interception and two forced fumbles. He was named to his first Pro Bowl, and was voted second team All-Pro.

Brown spent the first four years of his career with the Titans. The Bills signed him last off-season to a one year deal to back up rookie Reggie Ragland. When Ragland went down with an injury before the season even started, Brown stepped in and played outstanding.

The Redskins can certainly used an upgrade to their poor linebacking corps, which returns last years starters Will Compton and Mason Foster. Brown may have been looking for a multi-year deal, but some have said his asking price was too high. The Redskins may be able to convince him to come to DC on a one-year prove-it deal, much like the contract Pryor signed a few weeks ago.
