Christian McCaffrey was in Washington today for a pre-draft visit. Skins hold pick No. 17.

Christian McCaffrey is one of the most hyped players in this year’s draft, and he is almost guaranteed to go in the 1st round. The hot rumor yesterday was that a team picking in the teens of the 1st round guaranteed McCaffrey that they would pick him if he was available, the Redskins currently have the 17th overall pick. McCaffrey continued his tour of the NFL with a visit to the Redskins today. McCaffrey has declined workouts on his visits, eliminating the risk of injury, and relying on his game tape.
McCaffrey has been mocked to the Redskins for months, along with the other two top RBs in this draft, Leonard Fournette and Dalvin Cook. The former Stanford RB is expected to go in the top half of the 1st round, and could be the 1st RB off the board on April 27th. McCaffrey is projected as an excellent fit for Jay Gruden’s offense. The Redskins bring back Robert Kelley, Matt Jones, Mack Brown, and Chris Thompson(unsigned restricted free agent) this year, but Gruden talked about adding talent at the position at the NFL Owners meeting. “If we add one, there are some special players in the draft that would be hard to pass up if they are available.”
