Bruce Allen discussed the exclusive franchise tag being placed on Kirk Cousins because the team wanted to keep him long-term. He also said the team was tired of the nonsense of possible trade scenarios out there. Enter Ian Rapoport with the most nonsense trade scenario presented yet. The 49ers get Cousins, the Redskins get Tony Romo, and the Cowboys get picks. There would obviously be other factors if this Jerry Jones fantasy ever became reality, but the only loser in this deal would be the Redskins.
The Cowboys get rid of Romo, the aging injury prone QB with a huge salary cap, and McNabb him to the Redskins for picks. Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers get a franchise QB to build around. The Redskins get...nothing. Moving on.
As #Redskins & #49ers discuss a potential deal for QB Kirk Cousins in the near future, I’m told they may include the #Cowboys (Romo) as well

Play a potential and unprecedented three-way deal forward… #49ers inquire about Cousins. #Redskins talk about Tony Romo. #Cowboys get picks.
