Updated with great new ways to be fed up with Bruce Allen and the Redskins thanks to the ongoing Kirk Cousins contract saga and constructive statements from Bruce Allen!
Half off for a limited time only!
Well that didn’t last too long. Way back in December of the 2014 Redskins season, when the team was one game away from a 4-12 record, the fine folks at BreakingT brought you the FedUp T-shirt. This year marked Bruce Allen’s takeover of the GM position with Mike Shanahan gone. He hired his head coach in Jay Gruden, ran the draft and handled every aspect of the franchise. The results were not great.
The Redskins hired a new GM a month later, and the team sold us on the next thing to distract us from the dysfunction. Scot McCloughan came to the Redskins with a lot of talent, but also a lot of baggage. In Scot We Trust shirts were made, and the Redskins went to the playoffs the following season. The Robert Griffin III era ended with McCloughan and Gruden supporting Kirk Cousins as the starter. The Redskins missed the playoffs by 1 game last season, and posted they’re first back-to-back winning seasons in way too long.
Fast forward to last month. Scot McCloughan is given a media gag order. He is kept home from the most important event for the draft, the NFL Combine. He is no longer at Redskins Park, and the rumors started about his drinking. McCloughan got the ax yesterday, and then the leaks from anonymous team sources really starting flowing. It’s a mess, and with Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen in charge, it’s not going to get better anytime soon.
Welcome back to the circus.
