Yet again, the Redskins blew the final contest of the season against the Giants, in a game that could have gotten them to .500 on the season, and given Jay Gruden and company their third straight non-losing season. Instead, Kirk Cousins and the offense laid yet another egg, while the defense had no answer for the Giants rushing attack, being gashed for 260 yards.
The highlight for this game...18 total punts! What a complete DUD by this un-inspired squad, who showed they have absolutely no heart! This team should be absolutely ashamed of their performance! Everyone should be forced to give their game check to charity!
I hope come Black Monday, that someone’s job is gone!
Below are my Studs and Duds of the game.
Studs:
Ryan Kerrigan - Kerrigan has a strip-sack of Eli Manning in the second quarter, and later recorded his second sack of the game. He had 13 for the season.
Kapri Bibbs - Bibbs was the only bright spot on offense, rushing for 47 yards on 12 carries, and catching 8 passes for 53 yards.
Duds:
Kirk Cousins - In typical Cousins’ fashion in his last game of the season, the Skins quarterback was horrible all afternoon. He missed open receivers, threw three interceptions (two to backup linebacker Kelvin Sheppard) and looked extremely uncomfortable in the pocket. He showed little desire to step up in the pocket even when there was opportunity to due so, instead resorting to throwing off his back foot, or throwing sidearm. This is the same guy who played terrible last season in our final game against the Giants with a lot on the line. Today, he honestly looked like he was playing to not get hurt, instead of playing for a .500 regular season record. Are we still ready to make this guy the highest paid quarterback in the league?
Tyler Catalina - I know we are decimated with injury, but Catalina has no business being on any NFL roster.
Martrell Spaight - Spaight may stuff the stat sheet with tackles, but the that is mostly smoke and mirrors. He was slow getting over, forcing him to miss a tackle on the long touchdown run by Darkwa early in the game. He missed multiple tackles, and shows very little instinct aside from some run blitzes.
AND...THE REST OF THE TEAM!
Enjoy your off-season Redskins fans!
