The Minnesota Vikings have reportedly claimed former Redskins RB Mack Brown on waivers. Washington waived Brown on Saturday to make room for some much-needed offensive line depth, signing Orlando Franklin and Arie Kouandjio, and placing Mason Foster on injured reserve. Brown has been with the Redskins since 2015, and has been a preseason(and Mason-Brennan) favorite. Brown played for the Redskins last season in a blowout win over the Bears, scoring a 61 yard TD. He also had carries in two games this season, active for several games due to Rob Kelley’s injuries. Brown had 8 rushes for 29 yards, and an 11 yard catch this year for the Redskins.

The Vikings on had two running backs on their active roster(Jerick McKinnon, Latavius Murray), and Brown will presumably take the 3rd spot. Minnesotalet their former franchise RB go to free agency earlier this year, and he was signed by the New Orleans Saints. They drafted Dalvin Cook in the 2nd round of this year’s draft, but his promising rookie season was cut short due to an ACL injury. Good luck to Mack Brown in Minnesota, but not when the Redskins play them in two weeks at FedEx Field.
