Jay Gruden: Redskins can compete with anyone; injury updates going into bye week

Jay Gruden gives updates after last night's loss to the Chiefs

NFL: Oakland Raiders at Washington Redskins Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden held a conference call with reporters today to give some updates following last night's loss to the Chiefs. The game featured several Redskins players leaving the game and some playing through injuries.

The biggest loss in the game was #1 CB Josh Norman leaving with a rib injury. It was reported during the game that he would miss several weeks. Gruden said today he is week to week with a rib fracture, but there is a chance he plays the 49ers after the bye.

The Redskins also got a scare when LT Trent Williams went down with a knee injury. Williams only missed 4 plays, but he will be getting an MRI on his kneecap that was aggravated. He was bothered by it in training campas well. This is even more concerning with backup OT Ty Nsekhe out several weeks after surgery, and T.J. Clemmings in as the backup.
