UDFA nearly made the 53-man here. Gets shot in Indy.
The Indianapolis Colts have been picking up the Redskins scraps this summer, and continue this week. Ben Standig reports that the Colts are signing UDFA guard Kyle Kalis from the Redskins practice squad. Many people thought that Kalis could make the Redskins roster this year, but Washington went with another UDFA, Tyler Catalina, for the backup spot over incumbent Arie Kouandjio.
The Colts picked up several Redskins players this season already, putting in a successful waiver claims for Matt Jones and Matt Hazel after final cutdowns. They also signed DT Joey Mbu to their practice squad. Matt Jones is still on the Colts roster after being cut, signed to their practice squad, and then called up to the 53. Matt Hazel was also cut, and signed to the team’s practice squad.
