The Washington Redskins(2-2) host the San Francisco 49ers(0-5) in their first game in two weeks. The Redskins need a win this week to stay in the race for the NFC East division. The Eagles(5-1) are currently in 1st place, while the Cowboys(2-3) and Giants(0-5) are completely falling apart. The Redskins play back-to-back division games(Eagles, Cowboys), and need to every win they can get.
Washington could be missing 3 starters this week vs the 49ers. CB Josh Norman(ribs) and swing tackle Ty Nsekhe(core muscle) have both already been ruled out, while RB Rob Kelley(ankle) and S Deshazor Everett(hamstring) are doubtful. LT Trent Williams hasn't practiced all week and is listed as questionable.
The Redskins are heavy favorites in a game that brings Kyle Shanahan back to the team that fired him. He has spoken about how deeply that experience affected him, and will obviously be looking for his first win as a head coach. The 49ers have lost 4 games in a row by 3 points or less, and the last two went to overtime. Kirk Cousins and the Redskins should win this game, and move on to Monday night against the Eagles with some momentum.
