Wilks is the Assistant HC and DB Coach for the Carolina Panthers. He’s 47 years old and has been with Carolina since 2012. Josh Norman raves about him and his coaching ability and obviously, Wilks played a large role in Norman’s development throughout his career. Some have said that losing Wilks would be a bigger loss for Carolina than losing their DC Sean McDermott.
Prior to joining the Panthers, Wilks was the DB Coach for San Diego and Chicago. He spent a decade at the collegiate level prior to that.
Wilks was hired by Carolina the very same year that they drafted Josh Norman in the fifth round. Norman gives a lot of credit to Wilks for helping him turn into an All-Pro.
Wilks also plans to interview with Los Angeles for their HC job.
