The Redskins defensive line was not good last night and has been a major concern this year for many people. Washington signed former Eagles and Giants DE Cullen Jenkins on August 29th. He played in the final preseason game against the Buccaneers, recording 3 tackles and a sack. Jenkins was released at final cutdowns, and many people expected him to make the roster due to the question marks on the defensive line.
The Redskins also released their 5th round pick Matt Ioannidis(later signed to the practice squad), and went into Week 1 with only 6 defensive lineman on the roster. Kendall Reyes and Kedric Golston were both dinged up this week, but both active, with only undrafted rookie Anthony Lanier inactive yesterday.
The Redskins originally signed Jenkins to a 1-year, vet-minimum deal, and can now bring him in on another short-term deal with no guaranteed money by signing him after Week 1.
I'm told the Redskins plan to re-sign DL Cullen Jenkins today, per source. Released him during final cuts. More on @breakburgundy.

Was told a lot of coaches and some officials wanted to keep Jenkins all along, but that some in the building were more loyal to holdovers.
