Former(and now current) New England Patriots center Bryan Stork will not be joining the Redskins after all. Stork was rumored to be an early release by the Patriots, but Scot McCloughan jumped in and offered a conditional 7th round pick to secure his rights before he hit the waiver wire. Reports started coming in that Stork was considering retirement after the trade news broke.
He has had 4 concussions in a short amount of time, and his health and the change of scenery were rumored to be factors. It was reported by media and then Stork anounced his plans to join the Redskins on twitter, and it was reported that he would join the team this weekend. Those plans are done with a failed physical, and now he returns to the Patriots, and the Redskins keep their draft pick. The Redskins will go into the season with Kory Lichtensteiger as the starter, and Spencer Long, Josh LeRibeus, and Austin Reiter working for a spot as a reserve.
