C Bryan Stork has been a New England Patriot for the entirety of his two-year career. Now he’s officially a member of the Washington Redskins. The Redskins agreed to acquire Stork from the Patriots for a conditional seventh-round draft pick. The Patriots were going to cut Stork before the ‘Skins swooped in and proposed a trade.
Stork was expendable for the Pats because he had lost his starting spot to David Andrews and had recently been thrown out of a joint practice with the Bears after fighting with a Chicago Bears LB.
Stork’s known as a guy who’s had some trouble controlling his emotions over his young career. He headbutted a guy in the AFC Championship Game last year and was also kicked out of a minicamp practice in June for fighting.
Stork’s a big C at 6’4”, 315 lbs. Current starter Kory Lichtensteiger is listed at 6’2”, 295 lbs. Stork certainly offers more potential than Licht, Long, Reiter, or LeRibs. It should also be noted that the 2014 fourth-round pick has dealt with a number of concussion issues. Last year he only played in eight games with six starts. He’s a big, talented C with a lot of potential, but also concussion and fighting/dirty play issues.
