Jalen Mills, Safety
Thoughts from today: Jordan Matthews had a super day, Caleb Sturgis is ahead of Parkey, Wentz looked sharp, Jalen Mills keeps showing up.— Reuben Frank (@RoobCSN) July 31, 2016
Things got chippy between Jalen Mills and Chris Givens. Givens chucked a ball at Mills, who flung it right back. pic.twitter.com/9VM9v1JxZf— Reuben Frank (@RoobCSN) July 31, 2016
"Get the f--- up and run!" Jalen Mills is learning how to be a professional. My column on the rookie CB: https://t.co/QXrDVcUFje— Jeff McLane (@Jeff_McLane) July 31, 2016
Hunter Sharp got by Jalen Mills to catch a deep pass from Daniel. Mills hasn't looked as —ahem — sharp today. #Eagles— Aaron Kasinitz (@AaronKazreports) July 31, 2016
Deficiency in Jalen Mills' game in college is that he would occasionally shy away from contact. On the first day in pads, he's popping.— Jimmy Kempski (@JimmyKempski) July 30, 2016
How He Makes the Eagles Better and Creates Problems for the Redskins
Jalen Mills, by all training camp observation accounts I've read on the internet, has been a pleasant surprise in camp.
Mills is running with the 2's and 3's mostly, but has shown some physicality, which was not his calling card in college. If Mills can make the team as a 4th or 5th corner he can provide decent depth to the Eagles secondary. Honestly, I can't see Mills causing many problems for the Redskins. He may give some troubles to Josh Huff and Chris Givens, but Jackson, Garcon and Crowder are different animals.
