Player Overview
Adam Gotsis was on pace for a career year statistically before he tore his ACL in November in Virginia. Gotsis is highly regarded because of his ability to play the run and rush the passer. He was used in the middle of Georgia Tech's 4-3 formations despite not being the prototypical size for a 1 and 3 tech. In the 3-4 formation Georgia Tech ran Gotsis also played the 5-tech. Gotsis plays with good speed and power. He can drive offensive lineman backward and collapse the pocket. Gotsis who is originally from Australia moved to join Georgia Tech in 2012. He is still a bit raw from playing Australian football for most of his life but coaches will like his effort, motor, nastiness, and versatility. Rechecks on the ACL will be a big part of determining his draft position.
Strengths
- Great size and athleticism for a DL with room to add more weight to his frame. He's quite lean, hardly any fat. Great length, arms are over 34 inches.
- Strong uses his arms and legs to drive and move opponents.
- Plays with a solid base he is stout and hard to move from his spot. He also commands double teams.
- Finishes with purpose his hits have pop.
Weaknesses
- Needs to go a better job wrapping up when tackling.
- The ACL happened in November he is still rehabbing it and will have to go through rechecks. There is a possibility he won't be ready for training camp.
- Needs to develop better moves to disengage and use his quickness more.

GT DL Adam Gotsis might fall a bit b/c of knee injury but he should be a mid-round steal. Scheme versatile w/ length, strength + motor.

Why Should I Care?
Adam Gotsis was just selected in the 2nd round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. The Redskins don't play the AFC West this year. Gotsis will need most of his rookie year to heal from his injury. As the Redskins get better and make deeper runs in the playoffs our level of competition will increase. When we do play Adam Gotsis and Broncos eventually he is going to cause trouble for our front with his relentless nature and physical skill set.
