I have to tell you...I think this Scot McCloughan guy has a future in this business. Kendall Fuller is the newest member of the team. The defensive back from Virginia Tech figures to play in nickel packages right away, if you believe what Mike Mayock has to say about it.
Getting value out of the 84th overall pick was a must, and many of us had our eyes set on the defensive line position here. This deep in the draft and we are still seeing defensive linemen available that could challenge for a starting job on our defense right away. I had Andrew Billings on my mind in particular.
If you think about it, getting this kind of value in the third round makes a ton of sense. It was just last season when McLovin was converting wide receivers to corners and signing players off the street. With the additions of Cravens and Fuller, our secondary is younger and plenty talented.
The Redskins are currently set to pick next at #120 in the fourth round. McLovin expects to get production out of the fourth round. I am thinking we need the defensive lineman at that point...please?
