Mike Mayock's Pick for the Redskins, Top 5 Position Rankings, and Top 100

Mike Mayock shares his Mock Draft, giving the Redskins a top defensive prospect

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Mike Mayock is a respected voice in the draft community, even though he loses his every draft weekend from hours of coverage over 3 days.  He released his one and only mock draft of the 2016 offseason last night, and gave the Redskins a defensive player that has showed up in many mocks this year. Alabama defensive lineman Jarran Reed would provide youth and talent to the Redskins defensive line, and could be the pick tonight.

Reed is special, and the linebackers will love him. The Redskins were 26th against the run in 2015; that won't happen this year.

Mayock also released his Top 100 2016 Draft Prospects list on Monday. Reed shows up as #24, while another defensive lineman comes in at the #21 spot. Ole Miss DT Robert Nkemdiche has a lot of buzz going into the draft, but off the field concerns could keep him off of Scot McCloughan's safe pick list for the 1st round.

Mike Mayock also released his final Top 5 Positional Rankings yesterday. The defensive line rankings show Reed as the #5 interior defensive lineman.
