Redskins RB Chris Thompson updates his recovery timetable | CSN Washington

Thompson's timetable likely means the Redskins are planning to a running back or two in the coming weeks via free agency and/or the draft. Washington's roster currently features Matt Jones, who had minor hip surgery this offseason, Thompson, Mack Brown and Silas Redd Jr., who missed the 2015 campaign after tearing the ACL and MCL in his right knee.

Who are the Redskins core players | CSN Washington

I think that the offensive linemen and Reed were good enough in 2015 to play on a very good team. Cousins would need further development, the kind that can only come from working with the first team week in and week out and taking snaps in regular season NFL games. There is no guarantee that he will get there but he represents the Redskins' best shot at having a franchise quarterback and it's realistic to think that he could get there.

Need to know: The five most valuable Redskins | CSN Washington

9—OT Morgan Moses—When you see a number like this, you have to wonder if the metric is flawed or if perhaps we underappreciated the player. This could be a little bit of both. Moses did have a lot to do with the pass protection that helped Cousins have such a good year. Looking at how AV is calculated it looks like a tackle who started every game is going to get rewarded if the quarterback doesn't get sacked a lot. Still, I'm not so sure that he was more valuable to the team than Jordan Reed was.

Are the Redskins saving their cap dollars for 2017? | CSN Washington

They still have about $15 million in cap space left. They could have fit a player like nose tackle Damon Harrison, who plays a position of great need, into the budget. His contract with the Giants has a 2016 cap hit of $6.6 million and the Redskins could have probably squeezed that another million or so lower if they had wanted to.

Robert Griffin III concludes a 2 day visit with the Browns | CSN Washington
