Player Overview
Kenneth Dixon is prolific. In high school, he rushed for 3,145 yards. He set a state single-game record rushing for 348 yards. When he arrived at Lousiana Tech he set an NCAA freshman record with 27 touchdowns on the ground. Dixion experienced a learning curve in 2013 when Lousiana Tech switched to a more pro-style running scheme. It hurt his prolific production as he was trying to get the hang of it but in an interview he says he's grateful for the change because it will have prepared him for the NFL.
Strengths
- Fast, shifty back with a second gear.
- Has quickness and lateral ability to take it to the sideline and get upfield when needed.
- Excellent. EXCELLENT, juke and spin moves. Very elusive in open space.
- Great patience and vision. Decisive picks a hole and bursts through it.
- Always falls forward.
- EXCELLENT hands. Dixon is just so good hauling in passes and getting yards after the catch.
- Strong for his build, has the ability to power through defenders to pick up extra yards.
Weaknesses
- Leaves something to be desired as a pass blocker.
- Only played one full season injury free in college.
Let's see some of his work:
Another player I liked from Senior Bowl: Louisiana Tech RB Kenneth Dixon. Did a little of everything, checked in at a nice weight, too.

Gonna have @BryanBroaddus' Senior Bowl thoughts on the site in a few. Thinks Kenneth Dixon is working his way into 2nd-round consideration.

I thought Kenneth Dixon was going to be this year's Thomas Rawls...but he's been found by NFL teams now https://t.co/XZL5aBqiim

How He Would Fit on the Redskins
I think Dixon enters the NFL and becomes a feature back. Are the Redskins looking for a feature back or are we relying on Matt Jones? As it relates to the Redskins, Dixon physically fits in the middle of our running backs. Matt Jones is a bruiser, Chris Thompson is a shifty one-cut type, Dixon is dynamic. He would contribute immediately to the team if drafted. If you think we aren't in the running for selecting a running back high just remember Scot McCloughan BPA approach. Dixon is a top 40 talent. I think he'll be drafted before our pick comes around again in the 2nd round but don't be surprised if his name gets linked to the Redskins in the days leading to the draft.
